Chuka University marked this year's Mashujaa Day on Sunday, October 20, with a special staff outing to Maya Gardens in Sagana, emphasizing team-building and unity. The event, organized by the university's Welfare team, aligned with the institution's tradition of fostering unity through team-building activities.
The outing brought together various groups, including faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives, with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Mutembei, in attendance. Participants engaged in a range of activities designed to enhance teamwork and camaraderie within the university. These included sack races, swimming competitions, and dancing.
The swimming sessions allowed seasoned swimmers to showcase their prowess in the pool, while the sack races highlighted friendly competition and teamwork. The lively atmosphere encouraged interaction, strengthening the bonds among staff members from different departments. The activities injected vibrancy and energy into the team-building event, creating an environment of light-hearted competition.
In addition to the activities, staff members enjoyed a hearty lunch, commemorating the rich culture of the region. Team-building events like this are crucial to fostering unity and enhancing collaboration among university members. They offer staff a chance to interact outside the formal workspace, potentially improving communication and teamwork during daily operations.
These activities also contribute to a positive workplace culture by allowing staff to relax and connect in a more informal setting. Chuka University's commitment to holding such events demonstrates its dedication to maintaining strong relationships with its staff, promoting collaboration, and inclusivity to create a supportive environment that enhances the community's effectiveness.
