Have you ever felt like crying for no reason, unmotivated and hopeless or you need to take a break from everything happening around you including people and events? That's it, that's called mental breakdown or mental crisis.A feeling of being trapped in a short period of time without warning. World health organisation described mental breakdown as a period of overwhelming stress.

Mental breakdown is often triggered by grief, failing exams, unmet expectations, breakups or a financial crisis. These triggers maybe accompanied by heavy emotions such as changes in mood, becoming irritable easily, increased frustrations, anxiety and exhaustion besides skipping social events and poor sleeping and eating habits.
At these dark times many go into hibernation mode. Hoping to find a small quiet space to fully restart their brains , loading and accepting their past experience in the process, some talk to friends while others pour out their emotions through silent sobs and in diaries.Meanwhile others take the first step towards healing by attending therapy sessions and continuous emotional attempt to regain normal life ,life gets better.
Bernard Ochieng' shares his experience as a person living with disability and accepting to live with the harsh conditions. He recalls his family having to accept he was disabled."It all started when I was involved in an accident from a mining site,I was later rushed to hospital .On reaching the hospital ,I was supposed to undergo a surgrey .My sister was the first to arrive in hospital ,after receiving news that I needed a surgrey she fled the scene. This led me to wishing I crumbled during the accident. My mother, brother and sister were nowhere to be seen. This pushed me to hating myself more.My grandmother later showed ,she supported me to undergo the surgrey.Disability is not inability
Despite different triggers and manifestations of metal breakdown among children and adults of both gender,it is important to know our demons and face them head-on than waiting for a blow from this indiscriminate ticking bomb.
