Through gate A from Ndagani, you enter the gateway to greatness and our tour begins here, in front of you stands the new Admission Block, which is currently under construction but already stands tall as a beacon of hope and ambition. This structure, set to be the tallest building in the region, represents the aspirations of thousands of students like you who seek knowledge and a better future. With its gleaming glass façade and towering height, it is a sign of your dreams reaching for the sky. Once completed, it will serve as the gateway to greatness, welcoming new students with open arms and guiding them toward their academic journeys.
Just behind the admissions ‘skyscraper’ building stands the “The White House” nicknamed so due to its distinctive white exterior and elegant design, the Business and Recreation Building is a hub of activity and engagement. This building is home to law lectures, seminars, and workshops that prepare students for the world of justice and equality. It also features recreational facilities, including a gym, and game rooms, and serves as the administration point hosting the offices of the Vice-chancellor, the deputy vice-chancellors, the registrar, the Chuka University Student Association (CUSA) leaders, and their parliament among other offices. The White House is a symbol of balance, where academics and leisure come together to create a well-rounded university experience.
A walk away from the white house, leaving through gate B, we enter gate C, here at the heart of our university lies the library, a sanctuary for scholars and the keepers of wisdom. Its grand entrance, lined with columns and large windows, invites you into a world of knowledge. Inside, the library boasts an extensive collection of books, journals, and digital resources. The quiet study areas, comfortable reading nooks, and collaborative spaces make it the perfect place for research, reflection, and deep thought. It’s a place where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of literature, history, and academia.
Just about a hundred meters from the sanctuary of knowledge stands another building, a frontier of discovery (The science block). For those with a love for science and exploration, the Science Complex is a place of endless possibilities. With its cutting-edge laboratories and research facilities, this complex is designed to foster curiosity and experimentation. It’s where hypotheses are tested, theories are developed, and breakthroughs are made. Whether you’re studying biology, chemistry, or physics, this is where you will push the boundaries of knowledge and contribute to the scientific community.
When your brain is full of content, then your stomach must also be contented for the Holy scriptures says whatever happens above, so is below. Sandwiched between the Library and the Science block is the place for nourishment and connection. The cafeteria is more than just a place to eat; it’s a social hub where friendships are formed over meals. With a wide variety of cuisines to choose from, you can savor everything from local Kenyan delicacies to international dishes. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the chatter of students create a lively atmosphere, making it a favorite spot to relax, refuel, and reconnect with friends.
Off from gate C into gate D we enter, and our pathway leads us into the hub of creativity, the Media Complex, a state-of-the-art facility that is the heart of creativity on campus. This modern building, with its sleek design and advanced technology, is where stories are told, news is made, and the voices of students are heard. Inside, you’ll find television and radio studios, editing suites, and spaces for digital content creation. It’s a place where aspiring journalists, filmmakers, and content creators can bring their ideas to life, shaping the narratives that influence our world.
Just besides the media complex stands another magnificent building where a taste of innovation is made, the Food Technology Complex, a haven for those with a passion for culinary arts and food science. This building is a blend of innovation and tradition, where modern labs meet test kitchens filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods. Here, students explore the science behind food, experimenting with flavors, textures, and nutrition. Whether you’re developing the next big food trend or learning about sustainable food practices, this is where your journey begins.
Our way back leads us to your new home away from home. Our accommodation hostels are renowned as the best in the region, providing a comfortable and safe environment for our students. Each hostel is designed with your comfort in mind, offering spacious rooms, study areas, and common rooms where you can unwind. With a strong sense of community, the hostels are more than just a place to sleep; they are where lifelong friendships are formed, and memories are made. The beautiful gardens and courtyards surrounding the hostels provide a peaceful retreat after a day of classes.
A view from the top of the accommodation building lands your eye on the Pavilion grounds a state of art facility for sports. At the Pavilion Grounds, every corner is filled with the thrill of the game, a demonstration of the university’s spirit of athletic excellence, where students are not only encouraged to excel but to find joy and lifelong friendships through the love of sports.
