The universe is cold and unfeeling. The only constant is chaos, motivating Kenyans to use tragic comedy to sensationalize politics.
Comics have been used for a very long time in dailies to lighten up serious issues. Kenyans are not new to this but as time goes their creativity in creating memes and silhouettes has massively increased.
Satirical cartoons were used during the times of early press to criticize governments for various wrongdoings and it's getting more popular today. On X, formerly known as Twitter people show their dismay with the government through funny tweets and silhouettes as seen recently.
The government has also been active in fighting back by making their own silhouettes.
Media has reinvented itself through many ways and unlike in the past where people were not involved in politics too much, today people are ready to use any means to call out the government.
With so much disinformation and misinformation online, people are ready to go a step further to do research to keep in tabs what the government is doing in Kenya.
This is such a good advancement since Kenyans are checking the government on their own. Not all hope is lost in democracy, we are more democratic than ever
